Obituary for Anna Louise "Lana" Muly
Anna Louise (Lana) Wallace Muly, went to her eternal rest November 4, 2022, following a valiant battle with cancer. Lana was predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Muly, son, Stephen W. Muly, parents, George and Ruth Wallace, sister Janet Vergara, and brother, Jerry Wallace. She is survived by her son, Christian A. Muly (Dana), many nieces and nephews, and an untold number of friends; most notably Carol Campbell, Peggy Morris, and Judy Turley.
Born June 24, 1941, in Cumberland Maryland, Lana spent most of her life in Baltimore and the Annapolis area after meeting and marrying Carl in 1962. Later that year, she graduated from Maryland General Hospital Nursing School. She spent her professional life working as: a social worker, an elementary school teacher, and finally, a Registered Nurse. After completing their fulfilling careers, Lana and Carl moved to Penn National, where they enjoyed many happy years. The final three years of Lana’s life were joyfully spent at Menno Haven in Chambersburg.
Lana was one of the most gregarious and fun-loving people imaginable. She never knew a stranger and shared her infectious smile and laugh everywhere she went. She lived life fully; all who knew her were well aware of her inexhaustible zest for activity and adventure. She made sure her calendar was always full of events to anticipate; up to the very end she was making plans to enjoy time doing the things she loved with the people she loved. Lana greatly enjoyed travel; she and Carl went on many cruises and trips around the world. She was exceptionally creative, as evidenced by her talent for making beautiful cards. She also had a true passion for games of all kinds, especially Mahjong, Contract Rummy, and Fast Track. Additionally, she enjoyed spectator sports – for many years she was a loyal fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Colts, and Ravens. Also, Lana never met a dog she didn’t love. Several beloved dogs, members of the family over the years, brought her immense joy and companionship, and she truly gave her heart to each of them.
Most of all, Lana loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. She faced her terminal diagnosis with utmost courage and a triumphant spirit; her strong faith in salvation never wavered. In fact, many friends, family members and ministers have remarked that they learned a great deal spiritually from her throughout her ordeal. She resolved to do as much as possible with each day she had and endured the pain and uncertainty with remarkable grace. There is no doubt that she is rejoicing today in heaven with loved ones (and new friends!) who have gone before her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 11 AM in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA, 17268.
