Obituary for Alvin S. Crawford
Alvin S. Crawford, 63, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 in the York Hospital. Born September 3, 1959 in Chambersburg he was the son of Edna (Otterbein) Crawford of St. Thomas and the late Dalton “Sonny” Crawford who passed away in 1988.
He was a graduate of the James Buchanan Senior High School with the Class of 1977. Alvin was employed as a drywall contractor for most of his life. Later he was employed at the Chambersburg Hospital from 2007 until 2019. Alvin enjoyed riding and tinkering with his Harley Davison and his other many “toys”. He also loved classic rock music and singing. He had a zest for life and enjoyed making people laugh.
In addition to his mother, Alvin is survived by his wife, Otta N. Rodas; daughters Daniela N. Crawford; four step-daughters, Kelli Rodas, Lily Rodas, Nohemi Rodas, and Arlene Rodas all of Chambersburg; three siblings, Dwight Crawford, Carolyn Clark, and Barbara Thomas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held, 1:00 PM, Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Doug Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday evening in the funeral home as well as an hour prior to the service Monday afternoon.
