Obituary for Alfreda B. Hinton (Spoonhour)
Alfreda B. Hinton, 75 of Fayetteville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 28, 1947 in Greencastle, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Isabelle Harris Spoonhour. Early in her life she had been employed at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She retired from South Mountain Restoration Center where she had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years. She was a member and Mother of Greater Good News Church of God in Christ. Mrs. Hinton enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, going to the beach, and taking car rides with her husband through the mountains.
She is survived by her husband, Roger W. Hinton, Sr. of Fayetteville; four children, Stacy Campbell of Fayetteville, Mary Jane Hinton of Fayetteville, Octavia Hinton of Fayetteville, and Roger Hinton, Jr. of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren, Natalia, Swaine, Brent, Desean, Anyia, Jada, Taylia, and Jelin; three great-grandchildren, Payton, Skyia, and DeAndre; and her sisters, Linda Lee West and Carol Virginia Scott, both of Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Greater Good News Church of God In Christ, 601 South Main Street, Chambersburg, PA. Bishop Edgar L. Scott will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
