Obituary for A. Henry Brechbill

A. Henry Brechbill, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. Born September 13, 1939 in Guilford Township, PA he was the son of the late Alvan Henry and Ruth Elizabeth (Good) Brechbill.

Henry was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1957. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. As a dairy farmer he served on the board of the Chambersburg Farm Service, the board of Agway, and with the Farm Service Agency. Henry took continuing education courses in building construction, welding, electrical and automotive to be able to apply his new knowledge to his farm over the years.

He was a long-term member of King Street Church where he served on the board and was a member and past-president of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class.

Henry is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan (Dice) Brechbill who he married October 17, 1957; three children, Sherwin Brechbill and his wife Rebecca of Chambersburg, PA, Sharlyn Sipe and her husband Brian of Fayetteville, PA and Sandee Brechbill of Chambersburg; eleven grandchildren, Adam Brechbill (Janelle), Ash Brechbill (Rochelle), Aaron Brechbill (Lindsay), Andrew Brechbill, Annette Ayrapetian (David), Lydon Sipe (Abigail) Corbin Sipe (Katrina), Hayden Sipe (Elise), Briton Sipe, Sheldon Sipe and Marielle Sipe; twelve great-grandchildren, Ethan, Alexia, Gavin, Nylah, Harrison, Annika, Bentley, Benjamin, and Brooks Brechbill and Tobi Joann, William, and Beckham Sipe; a brother, Edwin Brechbill (Shirley) of Chambersburg; and a brother-in-law, Glen Landes (Ruth) of Clayton, OH.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Byron Lee and a sister, Marlene (Brechbill) Landes.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 23, 2022 in the King Street Church, 56 N. 2nd Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will follow in New Guilford Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening in the church as well as one hour prior to the service Friday morning in the church.

Flowers are welcomed but memorial contributions may be made to either King Street Church at the address above or to Rhodes Grove Camp, 7693 Browns Mill Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
