Mardelle L. Overcash age 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Menno Haven. Born March 6, 1930, in Hampton, IA, she was a daughter of the late Walter Behn and Louella and Peter Burmester Behn Johnanson.
Mrs. Overcash worked as a fiscal assistant at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, spending time outdoors, hiking, sewing, and her beloved dogs.
Surviving are two children, Susan Harvey of Fayetteville, PA and Douglas Overcash of Chambersburg, PA; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Overcash of Chambersburg, PA and Benjamin Overcash (Sarah) of Chambersburg, PA; a great-grandson, Sullivan Overcash; and two siblings, Dennis Johansen (wife Jane) of Santa Margarita, CA and Walter Behn (wife Sherry) of Gresham, OR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Overcash in 1994.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 10 AM at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd., West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the charity of one’s choice.
