Obituary for Nancy J. Kantner
Nancy J. Kantner, 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Manorcare Health Services. Born October 5, 1950, in Somerset, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Leola H. (Hostetler) Kantner.
Miss Kantner was a speech therapist in the Chambersburg Area School District for 35 years, retiring in 2008. She earned her graduate degree from Edinboro University, and her Masters degree in speech pathology from Shippensburg University. She was a proud member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, as well as the Somerset American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, stitchery, needlepoint, flower arranging, and travel. She also had a great love for her dog, Lady.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Robin L. Forman, (husband Jay. H.), of Vienna, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service in Nancy’s honor will be held on Monday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd. W 17201.
